The EDD3-3701x is GALIL’s latest EtherCAT single-axis intelligent drive. This product is a motor amplifier designed to operate within an EtherCAT distributed system, utilizing standard CAT5 Ethernet cables and featuring a daisy-chain topology. The EDD-3701x can interface with GALIL master controllers (DMC-500x0, DMC-52xx0), making it suitable for a variety of complex and advanced application scenarios. To accommodate extremely simple applications, it also supports the TwinCAT programming language.
EtherCAT drives can be connected via long-distance wiring throughout the entire factory, while motors can be connected directly to their respective drives in close proximity. The EtherCAT protocol features truly precise control over Ethernet packets.
For most EtherCAT systems, the setup process is complex and time-consuming. GALIL has simplified the setup procedure, enabling fast and straightforward system integration. Using GALIL’s EtherCAT master controller and drives is as easy as using GALIL’s standard digital motion controllers.
Use the GALIL GDK software tool to configure the EDD-3701x. Connect the EDD-3701x to your PC via its USB port, and follow the on-screen prompts provided by the GDK configuration tool to start and run the motor.
The EDD-3701x series is capable of controlling brushed motors, brushless motors, stepper motors, and microstepping stepper motors. This driver not only provides motor control capabilities but also features 8 digital inputs, 4 digital outputs, 2 analog inputs, and 2 analog outputs. The EtherCAT master controller can access all I/O information from the driver.
