The DMC-18X2 motion controller with PCI bus from the U.S. company GALIL is specifically designed for low-cost application fields.
The PCI-bus DMC-18X2 motion controller is specially designed by the U.S. company GALIL for low-cost application fields. Its performance specifications are similar to those of the Optima series; however, to reduce costs, some less frequently used features have been removed—for example, analog input, the second FIFO, opto-isolation on inputs, and the auxiliary encoder interface. Nevertheless, several of the most essential and commonly used functions have been retained, such as multi-task program storage, symbolic variables and arrays, general-purpose digital I/O, and flexible combinations of stepper motor and servo motor interfaces.
The DMC-18X2 motion controller features a 32-bit microprocessor and can control 1 to 4 axes of servo motors, stepper motors, or any combination thereof. It comes equipped with functions such as multi-axis linear interpolation, circular arc interpolation, contour control, electronic gearing, and electronic cams (ECAM). The board includes a 2M Flash EPPROM for erasable and writable storage, as well as 2M RAM, which can store user programs, data quantities, arrays, and control routines, and allows the controller to operate offline.
The DMC-18X2 motion controller uses a 100-pin high-density shielded cable for its external interface. The PICM-3900/PICM2900D interconnection module, specially designed by Beijing Zhongbaolun Automation Technology Co., Ltd. for a wide range of users, converts the cable into a direct connection via D-type connectors and provides optical isolation for all I/O signals, thereby simplifying user connections and significantly enhancing operational stability.
