The DMC-41×3 series is a cost-effective, standalone motion controller developed by GALIL. Compared to the DMC21×3, which also belongs to the cost-effective series, the new DMC-41×3 features improvements in many aspects.

The DMC-41×3 series is a cost-effective, standalone motion controller developed by GALIL. Compared to the DMC21×3, which also belongs to the same cost-effective series, the new DMC-41×3 features improvements in many aspects: a 100Base-T Ethernet interface, an auxiliary RS232 communication interface with a transmission rate of up to 115 kb/s, a USB interface, universal analog input channels, an encoder feedback rate of 15 MHz, a faster servo sampling rate, larger program memory capacity, and a quicker instruction execution cycle.

The DMC-41×3 can be equipped with multi-axis stepper motor and servo motor drivers that are identical to those used in the DMC-40×0 acceleration series. Within a single 8-axis controller enclosure, it is possible to install either two 4-axis 750W servo drives or two 4-axis miniature stepper drives, thereby creating an integrated drive-control unit. This eliminates the need for connecting cables, reduces external electromagnetic interference, enhances operational stability, and simultaneously helps users save on costs and shorten installation and commissioning time. The DMC-41X3 controller and drive unit can accept DC power supplies ranging from 20 to 60V.

Like other cost-effective, high-speed motion controllers, the DMC-41×3 can control 1 to 8 axes of stepper motors, servo motors, or any combination of the two. Its standard features include PID compensation with velocity and acceleration feedforward, user-program storage, simultaneous execution of up to 8 applications, and I/O processing for motion synchronization with external events. Motion modes supported include PTP positioning, position tracking, JOG, linear/arc interpolation, contouring control, electronic gear control, electronic camming, and PVT.

The DMC-41×3 can be operated independently or connected to a PC via an Ethernet port (10/100Base-T) or a USB port. Like all GALIL motion controllers, it features an intuitive and easy-to-understand two-character command set, making user programming simple and convenient. The GalilTools software further simplifies the process of automatically tuning the servo performance of system devices and allows real-time display of motion position and velocity information.
