GALIL has developed a cost-effective, four-axis open-loop standalone motion controller specifically designed to meet the industrial needs of emerging markets.

The DMC-B140 motion controller is a cost-effective, four-axis open-loop standalone motion controller developed by GALIL specifically to meet the industrial needs of emerging markets. This controller features two communication interfaces: an RS-232 serial port (115.2 KB) and a 10/100BASE-T Ethernet interface. It employs a 32-bit Motorola microprocessor and can control the position of 1 to 4 axes using either step motors or servo motors (outputting pulses plus direction signals). Its motion modes include PTP positioning control, linear and circular interpolation for 1 to 4 axes, electronic cams, electronic gearing, and contouring control.

The DMC-B140 controller supports a maximum servo update rate of up to 125 μs per axis, a maximum encoder feedback rate of 12 MHz, and a command execution cycle of 400 μs per axis. The pulse command signal frequency can reach up to 3 MHz, meeting the high-speed and high-precision control requirements of most users. In terms of programming, this controller provides a storage capacity of 450 lines × 40 characters, capable of storing 126 user variables and 800 array elements across 6 arrays.

The DMC-B140 controller is equipped with Flash EEPROM, which facilitates the storage of user programs, parameters, and other data. In addition to enabling the controller to operate independently, it can also be used in conjunction with other higher-level controllers or human-machine interfaces via communication interfaces, thereby meeting the diverse application requirements and scenarios of users.
